Preparing Your lawn for Hydro-Seeding
For best results, the new lawn area should be prepped just as if you
were installing sod.
- If needed, add 1-2 inches of top soil to an area clear of weeds
and rocks.
- Fill in low spots and grade to approximate level.
- Rough spade or rototill the area to be planted.
- Rake, roll and level until the surface is smooth.
- Mountain soils, decomposed granite, etc. offer greater challenges
for plant root development. Soil amendments greatly increase success,
although it is not absolutely necessary. We will be happy to make
a recommendation.
